New Development Plan of PMRDA (2021-2041)

PMRDA is the planning development authority for the pune metro region with an outlook towards channelizing growth in a strategic and orderly manner. Pune Metropolitan region development authority (PMRDA) has envisaged an unprecedented approach towards sustainable growth of the Region.  Where as PMRDA is the largest metropolitan region in Maharashtra followed by NMR, MMR, NMA.

Phase development in PMRDA New DP

Aim of PMRDA’s future plan is to turn Pune Metropolitan region into a world class economic growth engine for the country. Whereas, PMRDA development plan has 2 ring roads, 10 metro routes, pune nashik high speed railway and crescent railway, 26 townships, four regional centres, 15 citizen centres, 13 multi model hubs, 5 tourism centres, 12 logistic centres, five education centres,9 truck terminals 7 accident treatment centres, 2 medical centres and 5 tourism centres.

Goal of the PMRDA’s Development Plan

Well, As per the proposal of new dp plan , it will be completed in time bound phase manner. Likewise, the goal of the PMRDA’s development plan is

  1. Economic and Employment Growth
  2. Mobility (convince)
  3. Environment
  4. Efficiency in infrastructures
  5. Self Sufficiency (housing and amenities)

Important points in PMRDA’s New DP plan

The PMRDA’s Development plan has also focused on environmental projects. In the same vein it includes, bio-diversity parks, 16 public gardens and 5 regional gardens. It aims to promote the public housing and planned development by building 59 public housing projects and 26 town planning schemes.

Logistic Developments in DP

The new expansions includes, industrial zones and warehousing. On the other hand, the expansion of the city limit will bring many of the current warehouses and industrial units to fall within the city.

When will be PMRDAs DP plan approve?

Well, the ambitious pune development plan is likely to be approve by this year, i.e. 2022. As the draft of  For instance, PMRDA is working on land acquisition, reservation and zoning.

One of the key provision of the proposed PMRDA’s Development plan is the inclusion of the villages, which includes peripherals areas.
